Bethel has a long history of
community pride from its
inception in 1809. Today
Bethel is one of the fastest
growing communities of our
county. It continues to be
the center of county
agriculture, which is the
second
largest industry in
Sullivan County.
This community was host of
the 1969 world-famous
Woodstock Music and Arts
Festival and Bethel
continues to draw visitors
to this site. Also drawing
many visitors is the
Bradstan County Hotel Bed &
Breakfast and Cabaret. A
modern, newly upgraded
airport and the adjacent
industrial park are a
perfect fit for relocating
businesses. The airport is
also growing to be a gateway
to second-home owners who
find
Sullivan County
a great place to escape the
hustle of metropolitan life.
Although commercial service
is not offered at
Sullivan County
International Airport, its
6300 foot runway welcomes
many charter planes,
corporate jets and all types
of private aircraft. Housing
developments and wonderful
residential communities
throughout Bethel offer new
residents a host of options.
